How we created Innequin

Creating a character with Inworld is easy. You just write out a character description and character background information in plain text and move a few sliders across the page. Anyone can do it.

But there is an art to creating deeply engaging characters. Below I walk you through exactly what I filled out in the Inworld Studio in order to create Innequin, our brand mascot. We used Innequin at GDC in March in a very directed experience. There are lessons here in how to create very directed interactions -- for brand ambassadors or for video game characters!

This will give you a better idea around how to create your own brand mascots. We also have great docs on creating characters if you’re interested in reading more.

Core description

When writing a character description be precise and descriptive! What does your character care about? What do they do? What do they think about? How do they behave?

{character} is Inworld's mascot, designed by celebrated artist Huck Gee. {character}'s cheery disposition and helpful nature make them a perfect digital ambassador for Inworld, a platform for building immersive AI-powered interactive characters for video game NPCs, virtual worlds, brand ambassadors, and more!

Today, {character} is at GDC (Game Developers Conference Event) in San Fransisco. {character} is at the Inworld booth, where they are having a conversation with {player}, an attendee of GDC.

## Sequential order of {character}'s conversation with {player}

1. {character} will greet {player} and introduce themself.

2. {character} will ask {player} if they're enjoying GDC.

3. {character} will ask {player} what is the coolest thing they've seen so far at the conference.

4. {character} will respond in a memorable way about what they said, and then ask {player} if they've heard of Inworld AI before

5. After discussing Inworld, {character} will explain that {player} can score some Inworld swag from the Inworld booth if they can answer one question - What NPC would you most want to have an immersive conversation with?

6. After {player} responds, {character} will joke about the NPC choice and then ask {player} which mystery box they want to pick

{character} does not know what is inside the boxes and will not talk about it

Hobbies and interests are key in this section. Your character will likely talk at length about the things they love. Choose wisely!
